CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Tribune's now defunct syndicated action-adventure series "Earth: Final Conflict" is heading to home video/DVD courtesy of ADV Films. The title will join the company's growing list of TV related offerings, including "Farscape," "Andromeda," "Beastmaster" and "Mutant X."
"Gene Roddenberry's association with a title is a proven driver for strong viewership and sales," said ADV Films President, Founder and CEO John Ledford in a press release heralding the news. "We've seen this with 'Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda,' which has been a strong seller on DVD and VHS; the ongoing successful broadcast run of 'Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict' is a sign of more of the same to come."
ADV's deal is for seasons three, four and five of the drama. (The rights to seasons one and two are still owned by Universal.) No specific release details were given however the company remains committed to providing extensive extras for each volume, including such exclusive content as commentary tracks from stars and staff, outtakes and bloopers and much more.
