Q: When you wrote Carnivale, did you have specific actors in mind
to play Sofie, Ben, BJ, and Iris?
DK: I wrote the first draft of Carnivale in 1989 - 90. The only
person I thought about was Justin, and I was seeing him as Christopher Walken.

Qui a vu le transcript du chat avec Michael J. Anderson (Samson) et Amanda Aday (Dora mae) ?
Je n'étais pas là en live ( je devais me lever tôt donc je me suis coucher + tôt) mais parait-il que Amanda aday est resté 4 heures sur le chat Elle a battu un record

Zont parlé de beaucoup de choses (j'ai vu le transcript arrangé sur yahoo) : des scènes qu'ils adoraient, du background de leurs persos (A.A n'en a pas eu mais DK a donné une bible de son perso à MJA), du passé, de musique, livres, MJA a dit qu'il était reconnu surtout par les fans de Twin Peaks et Carnivale (quelqu'un lui a posé une question sur l'épisode d'xfiles , et il a adoré le faire), qu'il adorait la science fiction et adorait aller à des conventions de SF.

Il a aussi dit qu'il sera le personnage principale de Ronnie Rocket (film de.... David Lynch forcémment ).
En lisant le transcript on se rend compte qu'ils ont beaucoup d'humour , sont sincères, prennent pas les gens de haut en faisant leurs divas. Oui c'est assez rare de les voir aussi disponibles avec les fans, j'aurais adoré être là.

Bon je vous ai fait un résumé (avant d'éventuellement mettre ce très long transcript voir un lien où il sera mis) mais je reviens sur certains passages (en version originale, je pense que ça ira) :

may be a movie that could be made?

MichaelJAnderson: What disappoints me about Carnivale is that originally it was the story of a good man who turns evil and a bad man who turns good. Instead we got the story of a bad man REVEALED to be good and a good man REVEALED to be bad. not as good an idea.

Aprilsong: OKAy I am sorry but I have to say something-- I just saw
HBO's feel good aren't we great we got 93 emmy's and it listed them
and completely skipped mentiong the Carnivale ones

LadyRavven: then again..if you consider their natural end in the
concept of teh show......as it applies to the show. Catastropic
happenings to mankind(the fans) often lead to a new form of reason
and stenght. a new kind of humanity (a new kind of fan..US)

J'ai decouvert cette série il ya 6mois et j'ai vu la saison 2 récemment et je dois dire que je n'ai jamais rien vu de telle, c'est une série complètement différente de toutes les autres. La saison 2 surpasse de loin la première avec des épisodes avec une intensité incroyable, ici on ne fait pas de revelations au compte goutte, on sait tous sur le rôle de chacun, la bataille est enclenché on en a une ébauche dans le dernier épisode de la saison 2, mais voila pas de saison 3, on se pose plein de questions, quel est le rôle d'iris, de Sophie? qui ya t-il sur le manuscrit de saulnière mentionné par talbot smith? c'est clair que la saison 2 a passé une vitesse superieure, la saison 3 aurait été géniale! j'ai pariculièrement apprécié les 3 épisodes "Damascus", avec tous les protagonistes réunis, scudder, justin, ben, sophie et belyakov, la fin de l'épisode 7 et le début du 8 sont vraiment énormes, je suis encore sous le choc de savoir qu'il n'y aura pas de saison 3.

Scudder l'a t-il aidé? ou bien l'ancien prophète de la lumière l'a t-il partiellement aidé?
