In an atypical scenario, programming on the Big 3 networks will remain intact with critical favorite Alias on ABC looking to make more of a dent in the ratings opposite CBS's perennial movie franchise and Law & Order: Criminal Intent on NBC. Although no one show owns the hour, unless CBS pulls a rare "A" list title out of its hat a safe bet for dominance is NBC's Criminal Intent, which got off to a solid start in season one. All NBC now needs to do is to find a compatible 10 p.m. vehicle. And as good as ABC's Alias is (see you at the Emmys Jennifer Garner), young adult viewership does not always translate into mass viewing levels.

Fox, which knew it was time for Malcolm in the Middle to stand on its own, wisely kept the sitcom on Sunday, moving it to 9 p.m. and pairing it with new Married With Children-like half-hour The Grubbs. With The X-Files (news - Y! TV) gone and the network (news - web sites) hoping to keep viewers laughing all night long, Malcolm and company at 9 p.m. is a welcome alternative. A bigger concern for the network is 9:30 p.m. with The Grubbs unlikely to sustain much interest given accessibility to the remote.

Last, and least, is the WB's Angel, which on the weblet's toughest night of the week could very well be entering its final season.

Pffff. Ils disaient déja ça l'année dernière parce que la WB diffusait Angel après 7 à la maison (!!!) qui avait un public relativement différent et pourtant et que Buffy était passé à UPN, et pourtant la série n'a jamais réalisé de meilleurs audiences.

Et puis, de toutes façons, quand la WB n'en voudra plus, UPN le rachètera alors...

angel face à law and order et alias et malcolm ca va être dur pour the WB je pense.
Le mardi c'est pas mal le duel avec 24 face à Smallville et Frasier mais je crois que c'était pareil pour la saison passée, en tout cas Smallville a intêret à améliorer sa qualité si elle veux survivre car il est difficile de passer le cap des deuxième et troisième saisons, dark angel et roswell en sont des bons exemples :)
décidément vivement la rentrée ! mais avant il faut quand même acheter les DVD de 24 qui sortent en angleterre (aux US aussi mais plus tard) le 19 Aout !!!
